28th MGC symposium - 13 September, 2018, Theater ins Blau, Haagweg 6, 2311 AA Leiden

 

Each year in September the MGC organizes a one day symposium for their members. The program of the symposium consists of 13 scientific lectures presented by promising, mainly young researchers (PhD students and postdocs) from the different MGC departments. Also the best presenter at the MGC PhD student workshop is invited to give a presentation. The scientific part of the day is capped by a keynote speaker and the symposium is concluded with drinks, small bites and a walking dinner.

Section 'DNA repair mechanisms'

This section organizes about once every two months a meeting on Friday mornings. Location is either Rotterdam or Leiden. Coordinators are: Haico van Attikum (h.van.attikum@lumc.nl) and Wim Vermeulen (w.vermeulen@erasmusmc.nl)

MGC Publieksmiddag "Wijzer over DNA" (lezingen zijn veelal in het Nederlands)

Sinds 2007 wordt er ieder jaar op de eerste of tweede zondag van november een publiekslezing georganiseerd onder de noemer " Wijzer over DNA". In de pdf kunnen de programma's van voorgaande jaren ingekeken worden.

De eerstkomende editie is op zondag 4 november in Rijksmuseum Boerhaave, Leiden. Het programma wordt op de website geplaatst zodra deze bekend is. Aanmelding kan via

MGC Public afternoon "Wiser about DNA"

Since 2007, a public lecture under the title "Wiser on DNA" has been organized every year on the first or second Sunday of November. The programs from previous years can be viewed in the pdf.

The next edition will be organized in "Rijksmuseum Boerhaave" on Sunday 4 November, 2018.  The program will be placed on this website in due time. Registration via

 A 2-day scientific meeting “Gene transcription and chromatin in health and disease”, Rotterdam, De Doelen, October 11-12, 2018

to celebrate Frank Grosveld’s scientific achievements during his career, and this shortly after his 70th birthday.

The speakers that we bring together are a mix of former supervisors, mentors, long-standing friends and/or international collaborators of Frank, as well as alumni and young talents of the Cell Biology department, which results in a program reflecting Frank’s versatility and an excellent scientific meeting.
